Valeria Escobedo is the Principal at Western School of Science and Technology.
Valeria is a First-generation Mexican-American Latina from El Paso, Texas with 14 years of experience in education. She began her career as an English teacher in San Antonio, Texas. Before becoming Principal at Western, Valeria taught English I, II and ACT Prep at Western for 8 years. During her time as an educator, she has served in the role of Instructional Coach, Content Team Lead, Class Sponsor and Student Council for the majority of her career to support students in a variety of extracurricular events and projects. She is passionate about education and helping students advocate for themselves, their families, and their communities. Since Valeria believes all students can be successful with the right skill set, knowledge and resources, she is a champion for education while recognizing the importance of every student’s background, language and identity.
In her free time, Valeria enjoys watching movies, trying new recipes, and spending time with her family. She also loves to travel, take pictures and attend live music events.
