About
Ramses Lugo is the AVID Director along with being the 11th/12th grade AVID and Ethnic Studies teacher at Western School of Science and Technology. This will be his 6th year teaching at Western.
Prior to teaching at Western, Ramses taught 7th-grade U.S History for two years in the Laveen Elementary School District and one year of World History at Betty Fairfax High School in the Phoenix Union High School District. He has a passion for teaching and is motivated by building strong relationships with students and helping to guide them towards college, career, and life success.
During his time at Western Ramses has worked with a dedicated staff to make Western one of the top AVID schools in the state by being recognized as an AVID Site of Distinction for two consecutive years.
In his free time, Ramses enjoys watching sports, reading, exercising, and spending time with his family.
