About
Dr. Joshua Lloyd is the Pre-AP Geometry Teacher at Western School of Science and Technology. Last year, Dr. Lloyd taught 8th Grade Algebra at WSST. One of his goals this year is to start a chess club here at Western. He believes there are many lessons from chess that can be used every day in life: planning, adjusting, thinking ahead, and problem solving.
Dr. Lloyd also teaches Microbiology to students in a Bachelor’s Nursing program. He has also taught Anatomy and Physiology, Nutrition, Public Health, and Pharmacology. Along with teaching, Dr. Lloyd spent over 8 years in clinical practice in Arizona, New Mexico, Massachusetts, and Vermont. Prior to college, he spent 4 years in the United States Navy. Part of this job included teaching sailors new to the aircraft carrier about electrical systems theory and operations.
In his spare time, Dr. Lloyd enjoys spending time with his family in nature, as well as hiking, biking, making delicious food, and playing chess.
