About
Mr. Daniel Charns is the Director of Exceptional Student Services at Western School of Science and Technology. Mr. Charns has been part of the WSST team since 2016.
Mr. Charns has worked in Education for 17 years throughout Phoenix and Massachusetts. He originally began his teaching career as a Special Education Teacher specializing in Self-Contained classrooms.
Mr. Charns was selected by the Arizona Department of Education to represent Arizona and participate in National Item Content Reviews for the National Center and State Collaborative (NCSC) and Multi State Alternate Assessment (MSAA) assessments in 2015 and 2016.
Mr. Charns was awarded Teacher of the Year at WSST in 2021.
In his free time, Mr. Charns enjoys traveling, playing in a kickball league, coaching tumbling, and spending time with his family and friends.
