About
Jordanne Dempster has been an integral part of the Western School of Science and Technology community since 2015. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Arizona State University and is certified to teach Sociology for grades 6-12. Jordanne began her career at Western as a 7th-grade math teacher, where she developed a passion for fostering student growth and academic achievement. Her background in sociology allows her to understand the diverse needs of her students, supporting both their educational and personal development. In 2022, Jordanne transitioned into her current role as an AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) elective teacher. AVID is designed to prepare students for college readiness and success, and Jordanne thrives in helping students from all backgrounds gain the skills and confidence needed to succeed in higher education. She is passionate about building strong relationships with her students, guiding them through the critical thinking, organization, and study skills that will serve them well in the future.
Jordanne’s dedication to student success is fueled by her ability to connect with her students on a personal level, fostering an environment where they feel supported, motivated, and challenged. She believes in the power of education to transform lives and is committed to ensuring that each of her students feels empowered to reach their full potential.
Outside of the classroom, Jordanne’s life is enriched by a variety of hobbies and personal interests. A lover of nature, she spends much of her free time gardening and farming, where she enjoys the peace and fulfillment of working with plants and the land. Traveling is another of Jordanne’s passions, offering her the chance to experience new cultures, broaden her perspective, and bring fresh ideas into her teaching. She also enjoys engaging in arts and crafts, which allows her to tap into her creativity and bring a hands-on approach to learning.
Jordanne Dempster’s blend of educational expertise, personal passion, and commitment to her students make her a valued member of the Western School of Science and Technology faculty. She continues to inspire her students to achieve greatness both inside and outside the classroom.
