Dr. Tamela Harris is the Superintendent at Western School of Science and Technology. In her role, Dr. Harris develops and communicates a clear vision for the district, promoting high standards and equitable education for all students. She oversees the development and implementation of rigorous curriculum and instructional practices, manages the district’s financial resources, and ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal laws.
Dr. Harris has extensive experience in educational leadership, with over 20 years of experience across multiple states including Arizona, Nevada, and Texas. Her previous roles include Senior Director of Academic Leadership/Associate Superintendent at Legacy Traditional Schools and Principal at Deer Valley Unified School District. She is passionate about educational equity and is dedicated to ensuring all students, regardless of their background, have access to high-quality education.
In her free time, Dr. Harris enjoys spending time with her husband and 6 children as well as developing leadership strategies, engaging with the community, and fostering continuous improvement within educational settings.
