Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are officially in the second semester of the school year and I want to take a moment to recognize the wonderful achievements that took place during semester one:
- We hosted a New Student and Family Orientation for all the new Warriors joining us this year.
- Students took their Beginning of Year tests to assess their baseline data and create academic goals for the year.
- Fall Fiesta brought many of our students, families and community partners for an evening full of good food, games, cheering, performances by the WSST Cheer Team and Drumline as well as an eventful football game.
- The WSST Volleyball team hosted the Second Annual Dig Pink Game to help raise awareness for breast cancer as well as raise funds to support this worthy cause.
- The film class put together their Second Annual Stop Motion Premier Night in which our students got to share not only their film, but also their creative process.
- Students took their Middle of Year tests and showed growth and progress toward proficiency in different areas.
- We hosted Winterfest, another community event filled with performances, games and activities and even a very special visit from Santa himself.
In addition to these wonderful events put together by our students, faculty and community members, we received wonderful news from the Fiesta Sports Foundation, naming Western School of Science and Technology as the winner and recipient of the Fiesta Bowl Field and Multiport court. Construction is currently taking place in our back field and we look forward to the unveiling of these incredible spaces for our students and community.
I am excited for the second half of the year as we continue to support our students. Let’s continue to work together to ensure this year is the best one yet. VAMOS WARRIORS!
Thank you for your continued support,
Valeria Escobedo
